Most of us have at least a passing acquaintance with the paternity test and what it means in determining the relationship between a man and a child. However, there are some other avenues to the paternity test that might be less familiar to the average person. For example, did you know that:
- Paternity test results that are conclusive in a court of law can be obtained before the child is ever born? The prenatal paternity test is administered by an OB-GYN.
- Very often Embassies will require DNA testing that is very similar to the paternity test be conducted so that the members of the same family can be kept together as they immigrate?
- That it’s not necessary for the mother to participate in a paternity test? Even without the mother’s participation, the tests have a99.9% probability of paternity for inclusions and 100% for exclusion.
DNA testing, the general science that includes the paternity test, has found many far-reaching applications since it was brought into use. Still to this day, one of the more common uses is the paternity test whereby many families are reunited and made whole.
